Paraffin Gauze Dressing consists of fabric of leno weave of cotton, which impregnated with yellow soft paraffin. The dressing is used as a primary wound contact layer in the treatment of ulcers, burns, and a variety of traumatic injuries. It also can be used as a transfer medium for skin during grafting.
The wide-meshed gauze promotes the drainage of exudates and ensures that the wound is well ventilated. The neutral ointment base provides the opportunity to apply additional, wound-specific medication.
